I always try to make a good impression
Apr. 30th, 2009 06:14 amIn 48 hours I will be waiting around the airport for my plane to board. Where am I going? That far off realm known as the Midwest.
As I posted a while ago, I am going to the International Congress on Medieval Studies and to visit some of my mother's family. I've never been to Kalamazoo (the nickname of the Congress) before and I don't think I know anyone there. The relatives that I'm visiting I haven't seen since I was 15.
So it's important to feel my best and look my best in order to make a good impression. Right?
This morning, while still only half awake, I accidentally shaved off half of my mustache. The trimmer somehow got set on its shortest setting and I didn't think to check it until I'd already made one pass across my lip. It looks like crap. I think I'll leave it for now and see how quickly it grows back in.
Stupid mistake. But I can live. I'm in pretty good spirits, actually.
