More work...
Jan. 2nd, 2006 06:46 amWell, I'm off to work again. Inventory started on Tuesday the 27th and we finished counting everything Friday the 30th. But there was still a ton of work to do, including organizing all of the sheets of notes we couldn't find on the computer printouts and actually typing in the results of the inventory into the computer.
Christine talked me into staying home Saturday and having a family day. It was a wonderful day with lots of laziness, some good poker playing (up $200), my first LJ post in 5 months, a delicious ham dinner (thanks Alton!), nipping mead all day (thanks Santa!), a really corny movie that was as much fun to criticize as to watch (Sahara) and to top it off I made Spanish Coffee (the drink we fell in love with on the Alaska cruise). It was even better at home where we had full control over the cream and sugar.
We watched midnight at the Space Needle (on TV) and some of the fireworks our neighbors shot off then went to bed. I woke up a little headachey -- hardly a surprise, the Spanish Coffees come out stronger than on the cruise as well. Slept in later than I had planned but got to the store by 10:00.
Wrap up of the inventory went well and I was about half done when I got a call from a co-worker at 2:00. He was call to say that he couldn't work on Monday. I would have to cover for him. So I quit for the day and figured I could finish Monday.
It did gain me a nice afternoon with my family. I played CoV with Christine -- got Prof. Steampunk to 13th and actually got an interesting story arc! Stopping Dr. Vahz from coming to the Rogue Isles. We're looking forward to doing more mishes in that arc. I also helped Becca put some Legos together and played some poker (up $50).
The end of the night I was still really headachey (typical for me and hangovers - they last all day) and after my dad watched a football game with turned on some poker. My mom and dad really seemed to enjoy watching it and they stayed an extra hour to see who would win the WSOP 2005.
I should also say that I have been _greatly_ enjoying Civ 4 which I got for Christmas. I really like the way it plays, religons especially. I does have the same problem that all the others do in that it takes forever to play. More on Civ another day.
Poker Report:
December Starting cash: $1191.84
December deposits (to take advantage of special offers): $800.00
December Ending cash: $2320.47
December Profit: $328.63
January Starting cash: $1500.00 (my plan is to withdraw down to $1500 each month so I have money to take advantage of special deals)
January 2nd standings: $1549.75
That's it for now,
